Our school is a community where everyone can grow as collaborative learners, compassionate individuals and responsible citizens in an environment of mutual respect and excellence for all.
Our Relationships Education and PHSE curriculum has been developed following Statutory Government guidance. As part of The Priestley Academy Trust (PAT) we have consulted with children, parents and other stakeholders to develop our relationships policy which is available on the policy pages of this website.
Our curriculum is a spiral curriculum, which is taught from Y1 to Y6 and ensures progression in knowledge, attitudes and values and skills – including the key skills of social and emotional learning. These skills are known to improve outcomes for children.
We use the SCARF materials from the Coram Life Education Charity, who have been used in school for a number of years. Our curriculum meets the DfE Relationships Education and Health Education Statutory requirements for the end of Primary school and the guidance provided by the PSHE Association.
The document below details the learning objectives taught in each year group.
If you have any queries or questions regarding any of the lessons, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s Assistant Headteacher on 01274 774644 who would be happy to discuss anything covered.
